Model: NAOMI
Pouting Naomi is not at all sure she likes America. With her family, she has been poked and prodded by numerous, impatient - and not very polite - Ellis Island personnel, yelling questions at her parents in a strange, unintelligible language. Certainly, these people are not speaking Yiddish, the only language Naomi has ever heard. Naomi began her journey from a small village located somewhere in Poland. Looking out at her new world through frightened grey eyes, Naomi is dressed too warmly in a hand-me-down black and white herringbone patterned wool jumper which was originally made by her great aunt for Naomi's cousin Rachel. A simple pullover shirt fashioned from a cream and black striped fabric almost covers completely the white homespun winter undergarments Naomi also wears. All we can see is a bit of the neckline and the ends of her sleeves which have been rolled back over the cream and black shirt. Naomi's abundant, dark brown, curling hair is barely contained beneath her medium tan faux-suede hat. Black and white piping trims Naomiâ€TMs pouch made from the same cloth as her jumper. White pantaloons peek from beneath the jumperâ€TMs hemline. Knitted socks stretch, from the tops of Naomi's black faux-suede high topped shoes, nearly to the edges of her pantaloons. Around her neck, Naomi wears her most treasured possession a goldtoned Star of David threaded on a pale cream ribbon. Naomi's cousin Rachel removed the Star from her own neck and fastened it on Naomi as they hugged good bye for the last time. The doll has a porcelain head, arms, hands, legs and feet and a cloth covered stuffed body.
