Miniature Fairy Garden Mallow Fairy

Sitting quietly on a stone in the miniature garden and surrounded by greenery, this thoughtful fairy is holding the buds of the mallow plant. The attractive heart-shaped foliage of the mallow plant is reflected in the hem of this fairy's purple and green dress. The Mallow Flower Fairy's purple hand-painted wings, with patches of bright yellow, rest gently on her back. The inspiration for creating the Mallow Fairy came from the illustrations of Cicely Mary Barker's children's books. The image of the Mallow Fairy was found in the edition called, Flower Fairies of the Alphabet. Barker's first book was published in 1923.
